Camp lighting
Lights and lanterns for when there is not enough moonlight to see by, because a good camping light is a must. Being mere humans our night vision is poor at best so light helps with everything from changing a tyre to walking to the ablution facilites at night.

Most of these lights can also double up as emergency lights during power failures.

Just in case
We don't think this quite fits in the category of emergency lighting, more like lights you should have in your glove compartment or handbag.

Spot/search lights for those times when you need to light up the sky. Good for night time game drives, security or search and rescue missions.

While tactical lights are normally aimed at the security establishment we feel they have a place in the outdoor arena as well, especially the higher powered LED lights. They will fit comfortably on your belt but give you the peace of mind that if you are in the dark you have a powerful light handy. Whether it be to find your way home or to signal to the rest of your party we think every outdoorsman should have one.
